Synopsis: |
Hank Houston. Husband. Father.
Astronaut. Decorated Earth Hero. Deceased. |
A life spent
in the service of mankind, exploring the space beyond our planetary
border. His immense discoveries shattered old fears and united an
entire planet. When a man such as Hank Houston passes on, the world
cannot help but celebrate his life and immortalize him in death.
While alive, he quested for the betterment of all and during his
long sleep, he would travel farther than any previous human milestone. Mourning its beloved, a world sent a rocket carrying his body into space as a tribute to the fallen hero on his final journey. Through the night sky the rocket raced. Past the moon, past the farthest undiscovered planets of our solar system the rocket soared on and eventually left the Milky Way galaxy. Time passed. Through spidery web nebulae, trailing comet tails and past angry red giants, the rocket continued. Inevitably, the tiny rocket came to rest on the planet Bistin. Intact, though no longer functional as more that a casket. Bistin is a savage and bestial planet at its very core and yet blessed with incredible wonders of science far beyond those of Earth. Hank Houston's body was found among the wreckage and carefully brought to the secret laboratory of an exiled scientist. Revived...restored...given new life and tasked with only the simple delivery of a package in exchange for another chance to live. For a man like Hank Houston, a new alien world to explore should have been the jewel in the crown of his noble life. Technology beyond his dreams. Uncharted and lush wilderness expanses. Cultures and creatures the likes of which humans had only dreamt about in pulp classics. But it all meant nothing without his wife and children. Without a home to return to, there was no reason for any of his discoveries. And so, neither an alluring alien priestess nor a ravaging horde of roaming savages will prevent Hank Houston from finding his way back to Earth. Back to his wife and two children. Unfortunately, Bistin is so content to expunge him. Embroiled in a rebellion and forced to fight his way through Bistin's polical area as a Senator become two of the many impediments to going home. Although his ship is smashed beyond repair and he has no way of knowing Earth's location, his hope propels him to continue. There must be a way home and nothing will stop Hank Houston from finding it! |
